Anyone seen the Clash of the Titans remake yet? I haven't, but I'm planning a trip this weekend.

I am hoping for this weekend also. Rumor has it that the 3D effects are lame and that it is better in 2D. It was not filmed as a 3D movie and was converted after the fact.

I heard the same complaint, Skitty. Unfortunately, Mobile appears to only have the 3D version at the moment.

3D wasn't HORRIBLE, but if given the choice, I would see it 2D ... I was just going with someone else that wanted to see 3D, so I said sure.
but seriously, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes were fudgeing amazing ... even they were in the movie for about 20 minutes total.

So I saw Liam as Zeus *lick* and Ralph as Hades *no lick but whoa, dude...love the intro*. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the 3D effects, but I'm not a fan of 3D movies anyway. I thought the whole film was too short. No time for story or character development. They failed to explain a lot of stuff that did get explained in the first one. Liam rocked as Zeus and Ralph kicked butt as Hades, although the raspy voice made me think of Voldemort more than once. I hated that the other gods didn't really have a role other than just standing around and sparkling. The arguments between them in the original film were classic examples of sibling rivalry. And then we come to Peresus...Sam Worthington...the dude from AVATAR. Sorry, Sam, but every time you go into "deep thought" mode, I kept wanting to yell "I see you." I think James Cameron managed to ruin you for me. *sigh* Alas... Despite all this, I still think CLASH must be seen on the big screen, but if you can avoid the extra expense of 3D, I'd do it. Not worth the added $$$. RELEASE THE KRAKEN!

Liam was awesome. I totally agree on the 3-D... it was less than stellar. Most of the time characters had shadows on them that resembled Alien heads. You know... the long swoopy crest that goes way way back.
I thought Voldemort too with Hades! He did have a spectacular entrance. That's how I want to enter a room!
I never really had a problem with the mythos being all jumbled with the original film... but this was was really a far cry from jumbled. Not that I expected them to do much to stay true to Ovid or any of they... I expected entertainment with spectacle... it is Hollywood. But it was very two sided good vs evil... Zeus versus Hades (they could have taken the other gods out of the movie and the plot would have been unchanged) and the beauty of Greek myth has always been the dysfunctional, incestuous and competitive nature of the the interactions between the gods! So yes! Too short! I felt like if they weren't going to be true to the first film they should have... and it they weren't then they should have complicated things.
Kudos to Liam and his shiny breast plate! And Kiara from Chronicles of Riddick getting the part as Andromeda. Sam... Sam... Sam... I'm going to have to think on you.
Release the Kraken!

I find that that what happens with a lot of films today. The focus is all on the special effects and the stories suffer because of it...At least the visuals were good and Liam and Ralph did a great job!
