Anybody follow American Idol or watch the finale? I don't usually watch much during the actual season, but I've gotten into the habit of catching the finale to see what special guests turn up. This year Alice Cooper and Alanis Morissette were the highlights, IMO. The BeeGees were just sad, and coming from me that's saying a lot. In high school I wanted to marry Barry Gibb.

I didn't watch it but when they say Sullivan County is Arron Kelly country they were not joking. Signs were everywhere as I found out when I went to Dushure.

I watched and was once again disappointed at who won. Always seemed to me the best singer should win but such is not the case in American Idol land. I realized yesterday that except for once (David Cook!) the person I root for on American Idol doesn't win. And the hype machine gets stronger every year and I am losing patience with it.
Chicago was even more lame.
Speaking of Alanis, did you catch how they changed the lyrics in "You Oughta Know?"

I did catch the lyrics change. I thought it was funny. As soon as I heard the opening bars of the song I said, "Are they singing ALL the lyrics?" I'm actually glad Crystal came in second. I like her much better and just like last year with Adam, she'll have more freedom to do what she wants.

I don't watch American Idol. Even when the dude from across the Bay won, I didn't watch it. But I do like So You Think You Can Dance.

I was shocked that Chrystal wasn't the winner but I think she will still become very popular as a recording artist.

I just realized that in nine seasons of American Idol - actually eight because I didn't watch the first season - the person I was rooting for only won ONCE. So, if you don't want to be the American Idol, get me to root for you! LOL
