I'm just gonna start a generic thread here for sharing reviews, good or bad.
Watched The Princess and the Frog last night. Now I haven't willingly watched a Disney movie since Ailish was little, but I LOVED this movie! It was a return to classic Disney, IMO. They got the Southern accents right and seeing New Orleans animated just made me smile. I also loved the soundtrack. How could you not like a 'gator named Louis that aspires to play Dixieland Jazz with the big boys? ;D There are lots of Easter eggs to watch out for, little references to other Disney movies. I forgot how many we found, but I'm sure we missed some too. I'm definitely buying this one! The only downside is now I really want some beignets and cafe' au lait.

I've found I still really like the theater realeases of original cartoons they put out...what's always bothered me were the straight-to-DVD sequals...
Finally saw Alice in Wonderland the other night, it was pretty good...the style takes a little getting used to, but that's Tim Burtan for you...

I need to watch both of those films. I heard good things about both. As a former Disney employee... it's pretty shameful how many Disney productions I've missed over the last few years. The next time I actually take the time to watch a film... I'll post a review.

I used to go to movies all the time but lately not so much. Saw Sherlock Holmes on Pay per view last week and liked it a lot. I had been warned it wasn't very traditional Sherlock. But had good cinematography and of course Robt. Downey Jr. and Jude Law!! Also saw Iron Man 2 a few weeks back which coincidentally had RDJ too! Also good, dragged a bit in the middle but enjoyable.
Michelle - your bouncing ball video on your signature cracks me up!

This week end I watched "The Blind Side" and "The Box". I liked both of them very much even though they tell very different stories.
The "Blind Side" is the Hollywood version of Michael Oher's life. He was a homeless 16 year old kid that was taken in by a well to do white family in Memphis, TN.
With a great deal of hard work, he rises from poverty to graduating from High School, then college and going on to become a pro football player.
It was very good and will bring a tear or two to the eyes.
The Box is based on a short story called Button, Button. It was adapted once to TV as a Twilight Zone episode..
The story is about a family that through no real fault of their own is struggling to make ends meet. They are close to losing their current life style and are troubles when a man comes to the door with a box.
The box has a button on top of it. He tells them they have the option of pressing the button or not. If they press the button, two things will happen; 1)They get $1,000,000.00 and 2) someone whom they do not know will die.. They have 24 hours to make the choice.
I found the whole premise very interesting. I hope I never have to make a choice like that.

I posted this over on Vicki's board, but I thought Jeannie might have a better chance of seeing this here. And Jeannie, I think you'd love this one as much as I do. Not a recent movie, I guess it came out last year on DVD, but I just found Igor. I am in lurve with this movie! I'm not usually one for animation, but it has SNARK! The cast includes John Cleese, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, Eddie Izzard, John Cusack, Jay Leno and Sean Hayes....whew. It's the story of Igor, who dreams of being an evil scientist in his own right. He creates a creature who doesn't turn out as evil as he hopes. The final musical number is my absolute favorite. I mean, a chorus of bind orphans singing "I Can See Clearly Now"?? C'mon, what's not to love!

I've heard good things about Igor but haven't actually seen it yet. Haven't had much time to do anything except sleep and revise lately.
I don't include eat because I too often forget to do that. I suck at being human.

Mark and I signed up for Netflix (Yes, we're behind the times.) and watched RED this past weekend starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, and John Malkovich. OMG...too funny! I love Malkovich as Marvin, the paranoid, and Mirren as "the best wet-works operative in the business." The entire movie is snarky and has dark humor running throughout. Not to mention all the great actors...plus they mention Mobile, even though they mispronounce the name.
