THE BOOK Is there a place to discuss the book in general yet? Gotta say I love all of the different angles. You get to hate the villians as you cheer for the heroes. Oh, and drool over the sexay too. Not just Varik. Stephen's a stud too. Everyone is believable in their flawed personalities. Nobody is so perfect that you go "Pshaw, yeah right." I love Alex's psychic ability, that it was inherited from her father, and that not all vampires have it. I like seeing her father, even from the grave, and look forward to finding out what he gave up his peaceful afterlife for. I have a question though. Do vamps gain sustenance from other vamps? When Alex was possibly dying from the psychic wound, Varik gave her his blood to save her. How does "dead" vampire blood save another vampire? I have a feeling that Alex's covering up for Tasha's misstep will come back to bite her in the ass in her investigation in the next book. (Uh oh.) Well done, Jeannie. Not just another vampire novel!

We don't officially have one yet and not everyone has read it. Feel free to start a thread, but just keep the spoilers under the "spoiler" tag.

The date is fast approaching! July 6 is the official release day for Blood Law! Please keep your discussions of the book in the Blood Law thread. Please use spoiler tags within the thread until July 19. This will give time for most folks to read the book. After that date, all bets are off if you wander into the thread. So be forewarned! If you have trouble using spoiler tags, let one of the mods know and we'll help you out! As an added bonus (Now how much would you pay?), we'll be planning a live chat within a couple of weeks after release day to discuss the book and have Jeannie answer your burning questions! Stay tuned! Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts!

Answering come of Ravie's questions here: Do vamps gain sustenance from other vamps? Short answer, yes. Long answer...you'll have to wait for that one. ;D When Alex was possibly dying from the psychic wound, Varik gave her his blood to save her. How does "dead" vampire blood save another vampire? It's not "dead" blood. Remember: my vampires are living, breathing mortal beings. I have a feeling that Alex's covering up for Tasha's misstep will come back to bite her in the ass in her investigation in the next book. (Uh oh.)I hearby implement JK's Standard Answer #1:

Just ordered a copy on Amazon for my mother-in-law. I'm buying mine at B&N on release day so I can take a pic of the display (I say "I", but I have to work, so I'm sending my hubby on a mission).

Did you tell him "If you choose to accept this mission, this message will self-destruct in 30 seconds..."?

You're lucky I'm not a mod here, or I'd beeyotchslap you all into next week for veering off topic. This thread was intended for book discussion. RAWR. So, Vicki's CHEAT THE GRAVE will still be on B&N's Mass Market tower for the month of July when BLOOD LAW gets released, so they'll be on the same display!

lol...how, exactly, do you beeyotchslap the author in her own forum? I was at my local B&N yesterday and no sign of it...thenna again I had a hard enough time finding the books I was looking for (Kitty goes to War among them) that I don't expect to find it easily

Fine.... Here's an "on track" post: I'm totally creeped out by the fact that my 16-year-old niece has the hots for Varik. Yes, she TOLD me this.
