The thing I gleaned from safety training was not to walk backwards while counting birds. Apparently it is a serious problem... and therefore a safety risk that deems it necessary to not only get certified, but I must wear a lime colored vest and orange hat while doing it.

I went out on my car port to find Fuzzy to see if she was ready to eat and saw a black snake! He was just sitting there. I ran for my camera and he ran for cover. Drat.
Fuzzy showed up later with fast food. She caught a gecko for lunch.

Apparently she was ready to eat way before you thought. Gotta give her points for being self-sufficient!

So, my day at work yesterday:
Background: My friend (thru whom I got my job) accidentally let one of her inside cats out on May 30th (blame the husband!). This cat is very skittish - won't come to people, even her keepers. My friend was heartbroken and spent days looking for her, calling for her, etc. Saw her under a bush briefly the next weekend. On Wednesday or Thursday the cat was observed ducking into the garage so the husband promptly shut the garage door. However, they still couldn't get the cat to come to them. Then the next morning the husband, forgetting that the cat was in the garage, opened the garage door and the cat sprints out! My friend was not happy. So they somehow managed to trap the cat in the garage again and she was telling one of my co-workers this story yesterday so...
At work yesterday:
We formed a cat posse. Four of us sneaked out of work, jumped in a van, drove 5 minutes to the garage that harbored the fugitive cat. With sheets, blankets, and brooms in hand, we managed to spread around the inside of the garage and corral the cat into the corner where my friend was able to pick her up and carry her into the house!!! The cat promptly sped upstairs to hide in an undisclosed location.
Cat-wranglers FTW!
Best. Workday. Ever!
