Congrats to Ailish! To overthrow the Evil Empire, find the mirror in the electronics department and smash it. It holds the heart. Then the Empire will die. (100 bonus points for anyone who recognizes my pop culture reference. ;D) My day consisted of driving four hours with a Fuzzy Dog (and Mark). Herc has officially joined our little tribe here in Mobile. The cats are nervous. He's freaked out. I'm exhausted. Should be a fun week.  |

Fine, you get the points. They're essentially worthless but hey, you got 'em.  So far it's okay. We've managed to keep them apart but I don't know how long it's going to last. Herc wants to follow me into the living room, but I can't let him out of office yet. Trying to intro everyone gradually. We'll see how we fare tonight and worry about tomorrow in the morning. |

Another conversation that just happened after dinner:
(I swear I am not making this up)
I glance down and noticed David's foot is all red, with these drippy looking bumps.
Me: What the hell is wrong with your foot??
Ailish(looking down): You know he runs until parts of him start falling off.
David (looking concerned, reaching down to touch his foot and then laughing:
It's salsa!

My week has been just ducky. I took my car in for some major repairs and it is ending up costing a whole lot more than I expected so I am trying to not think about this and have been snacking too much so now I feel all out of control. So today I am chilling out and reading books and relaxing and repeating "It will all work out..." as needed. Cause it will, sooner or later.    And of course, I am getting my car fixed up so I can go see the grandkidlet over 4th of July weekend which will be awesome!! Perhaps I will even see my son and daughter-in-law too! |

Car repairs suck, skitty! My car has decided to let the AC die during the hottest part of the year.

Went to Audubon volunteer training today. I am not certified to safely count birds on the beach. I have a badge and a vest and everything. Not exactly what I imagined signing up for oil spill volunteer services... but valuable none the less.
