Just a place to share day-to-day moments. You know, those "I gotta tell somebody this happened today" stuff.
One my way home from work today a GI-MONGOUS storm started brewing with winds about a bazillion miles an hour. I was laughing the whole way because all the stop signs and speed limit signs looked like they were doing 'Jazz Hands'. LOL!

Hi Honey! I'm home! Nothing much to report. Probably would've been a better day if I done it with JAZZ HANDS!!! ;D

Saw a hawk sitting on top of the speed limit sign as I turned the corner onto the highway. He looked right at me like he was waiting for me to be roadkill.

Kind of a 'Stephen King's The Stand' moment, deb. But still cool!

Yep, but he likes to use crows... I have been waiting for this day to come for a while now. It was supposed to be a really big pay day. When I checked out my account on line, i noticed it was way short. After a little digging, I found that the credit union has had me double paying my loan off for the last 2 months. At first i wasn't sure so i dug out my contract, and sure enough, that was the case. I just got off the phone and they are going to fix it. Today's extra payment is going back into my account. I needed that for my insurance. Now I'll be able to do things like buy food. YAY!

Yay! Food!!!
So my Saturday was fun! I'm sitting in the office and my husband bangs on the door and screams "help!" That's never good. He's not there when I open it, and I see a trail of blood leading to the kitchen. He's leaning over the sink... then I see the blood. A good vampire feeding worth. He shows me his hand and I can see white inside the cut... never good! Long story short, he jammed a wood chisel in between his first finger and thumb and it's more than a butterfly bandage and cotton balls could handle. What's worse... he started to black out on the way inside the hospital. It's was like a scene from a movie.
An ER visit and 8 stitches later... and things are getting back to normal this morning. ::sigh:: Boys are a lot of trouble to keep around.

Ouch! That sounds painful! Glad he is on the mend. And yes, boys do seem to be a lot of trouble at times...

Glad he's okay, though.

He was building the last of the shelves for the office. The cut is on the right hand... and he's right handed... so I'm not fully sure what he did. Some sort of wild sword work or something! It was a 1.5 inch chisel... and the cut is a little wider than that... and about a cm deep. ::shakes head:: The blood! Oh the blood!

I keep the sharp pointy things away from my hubby since the car can get to the ER on its own by now. His particular longtime favorite thing to do is not wear the safety goggles while cutting wood. His corneas have been scratched many times. He has also fallen out of trees with his chainsaw in hand. We have lots of insurance coverage on him and I will probably be a very rich widow some day. Sigh....

Wood chisel, not flesh chisel.
Back in the day, my mom asked me to cut back a bush that the mailman was complaining about. I gave it a shot. I had on work gloves and everything.
I had these big bolt cutter sized cutting things and went out there and started hacking away. A limb was blocking my view so I went to push it away and sliced open my thumb.
So I dropped the cutters grabbed my thumb to control the bleeding. then I thought I'd better move the tool so th mailman wouldn't run over it and get a flat bu I didn't really have a free hand and realized I had bigger problems.
I was home alone, everyone else had gone off to work and there was no way i could drive 10 miles to the ER. I had to call my sister at work and have her drive me. It was OK, she owned the restaurant so she came home to get me and beeyotched constantly about the amount of blood i managed to spill all over the place.
I got 6 stitches and a scar thats a little over an inch long. That was the second major cut on my left thumb.

*shakes head* you guys are all small time ... I've got a scar just below the knuckle on my right thumb from an RV .... think about that one for a while.
I went bowling for a good cause last night. relay for life fund raiser thing. we got 3 games of bowling, shoes, and pizza for $20. by the end of the 3rd game, I couldn't use my right hand ... at least doing nothing with it for the rest of the night has got the tingles to go away. that'll teach me to do something I know I shouldn't with how screwed up my wrist already is. my high score of the night was 113, from the first game. but it was fun, and they made some money, so it was worth it.
