Congrats Skitty! (Sorry I'm so late in saying it. Ugh. I'm a bad minion lately...) That vampire killing kit is in auction in this show on... I actually don't think it's discovery channel... but the ads are there, so I'll find out. Looks crazy cool.

Today is a day of surprises... I got word early this morning that one of my oldest friends had her baby -- 9 pounds & 7 ounces "little" boy! Yay!! Mom and baby are doing well. Then my sister emails me to let me know my nephew (her youngest son) is officially engaged! Woot! Wedding is next summer and his fiance is a very sweet girl. My sister's excited because she finally gets a daughter. Yay!!

Wow! Lots going on this month! My employee's wife just had a baby too. The only thing is, she wasn't due until the end of December. The little guy weighed 1lb 10oz, 12 inches long. He's in ICU, but all things considered he's doing well. They couldn't agree on middle names, so they gave him both. His name weighs more than he does, Tristan Alexander Xavier Hamilton.

Premies are special. Each one is different and I wish the best for the little guy and mom and dad.
My youngest nephew was born a premie -- 2 pounds and about 18 inches long. He looked like a strip of bacon. He turned 11 last month. He's almost as tall as me (I'm 5'5.) and shows no signs of the "problems" doctors will tell the parents "all premies have." Yes, he has a seizure disorder (not epilepsy) but that's hereditary from his father's side and hasn't been an issue for about 2 years now. He's also in the gifted program at his school so any "developmental" or "learning disorders" the docs predicted aren't evident. He beat the odds and is a healthy pre-teen now.
I hope little Tristan beats the odds too.

It's a wonder we all survived childhood. I had a few of these toys. Even Ailish had the Sky Dancer. I love the description of the "erratic Oh-Jesus-It's-Chasing-Me flight pattern". 10 Worst Toys of All Time

After working from midnight until 8 am yesterday, I spent all day at the house we're getting ready to sell because the furnace shut down and the pipes burst...$3100 later and insurance refuses to touch it at all because we don't live there and I can't say how long the boiler was shut down for...

What a drag DL. Sounds horrible.
Liking the new look too!
Suddenly realized today how badly planned my holiday is. Molar spacers in Tuesday. Teeth pulling was rescheduled for Wednesday (which makes my evening plans possibly less enjoyable), Husband's family Christmas party.... here Sunday... and the husband won't be here, and then two days later my braces go in. W.T. Frack was I thinking?
