I did that with my left thumb as well, My sister and a little neighbor girl were playing in a car, I swtarted to get in and she slammed the door, locked it and rolled up the window, I was about 5. she thought I was screaming yelling and crying because I wanted in. she just laughed and laughed.
When he woman came out to see what I was making ll that noise, she told them to open the door, They wouldn't do it. She had to go find her czar keys.
After nearly 50 years, that thumb is still slight flatter in the last half inch.

ouch ... but no, no one slammed my thumb in a door ... the RV door was open and I was hopping out. grabbed the frame of the back side door and jumped out (step wasn't down cause it was barely stopping for me to get out) and sliced my thumb open on a piece of the frame.
uh, bit of background, I was living with the sis-in-law and she worked for an RV sales company and they were doing a convention in the Silver Dome and I am always up for more work, so I volunteered to get paid to help *grins*. so final day, and we have to get all the RV's out of the Dome so they can get set up for some dirt bike thing or monster trucks ... whatever...something else was coming in right after, the next day, so the dome had to be empty. unfortunately, it was the middle of Jan and they had to park the RV's way off in some distant corner of the parking lot and then they'd have to walk back to the dome ... in a MI winter. so they came up with the brilliant idea to have me drive the company car (I certainly can't drive a motorhome, that's for sure) out behind the guys driving the RV's and then give them a ride back to the dome in a nicely heated car.
so thumb is sliced up, but it didn't hurt, so I hop in the car and get it started without really using the thumb and follow this line of RV's out. got out there, and loaded the 5 guys into the car and head back. that in and of itself was impressive ... 5 full grown men (none of them too small) and me in a little ford something or other ... think it was a malibu ... it was only made to hold 5. so I've got one guy half sitting in another's lap and half on the gear shift and he's shifting from drive to reverse and back again for me cause it's one of the floor shifters with the button to press.
so we work for a couple hours to get the dome cleared out with me hopping out once or twice to grab clean snow to clean it and chill it, and after the 2nd trip out, one of the guys finds me a clean hand towel (I think it was in the trunk) and get it wrapped with that. and the entire time while doing that, never cried, even though it did hurt something fierce.
though, afterward, when all the RV's were out from the show room and they got me inside to get it cleaned up and bandaged, that's when I started crying. probably really should have gotten stitches on it, since it kinda bled for like 2 days after, but by the 3rd day it wasn't so I was good. though, now I do hit the space bar with my left thumb .... left over habit from the couple months when I couldn't move it cause it hurt too damn much. ahhh good times.

So here's something cool. Friday night my team and I are doing a paranormal investigation on the site of a massacre. On April 16th 1782, 25 soldiers were attacked by 85 Indians. 19 of them were killed. Since Friday is the 228th anniversary we're setting up equipment to see if we catch anything. So the weird part, the store I manage is built on the exact site. I'm curious to see what we get.

Well, technically the back parking lot. Since the history isn't tied to the building, but the land, we really don't have to be inside.

That's so cool. Not cool about the massacre, but the investigation is cool. *sigh* I wanna go ghostie bustin' -- uh, I mean 'paranormal investigating'.

It might be kinda hard to pick up an entire Waffle House and move it to PA, but I'll give it a try.

Well, that would be the best option. Keeps the waffles fresher. Get on that, will ya? ;D

Today I went to the mall to get my phone since it broke. Anyways my youngest decides to yell at everyone he sees. "Hey, your scary" then bust out in tears. I didn't know he knew the word scary and he never done anything like that before. With all the stares I got my phone and hurried out of the mall. Never again will I take him with me.
